Imitating Pickle Eaters

34
Someone wants to be just like Daddy (Too bad Dad doesn't have a super cool Spiderman razor).

He eats pickles and olives like daddy (not like momma...ew).

He does push ups

He works out

He borrows Daddy's tools to "fix" things

He wants to "pway yegos! (play Legos)" with Daddy

He wants "Dadda come in my room!"

He lathers himself in aftershave when I'm not looking...

He walks in his Daddy's shoes...

Who do you want to be like? (HINT: Spiderman is NOT a good answer. Ok, maybe it's a little good.)
This week I'm thinking about this:

"Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God." -Ephesians 5-1:2

And I'm wondering, what does it look like to be imitators of GOD? Then I realize, the answer is in the same sentence. Live a life of love.

So, this week, I'm trying to live a life of love. I'm doing a good job, if you could please count "love of self"

Um, this week, I'm trying to live a life of love, and give myself up. AND...I guess it's what I'll be doing next week too.

Luckily for me, I don't need a Spiderman razor to be like God, I don't even have to enjoy pickles (bleh). I just need to:
"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." -Matt 11:28-30
