In case you all were worried (and no one seems to be), I am battling a horrible Spring cold.
Ahh-choo.
Anyway, I have a few things to tell you before I go blow my nose for the 11 thousandth time.
1. Shel has started swimming lessons and he loves it. LOVES it.
2. Easter was fun
...so much fun that some people couldn't be bothered to stop for the call of nature.
Uncle Johnny's shoes had a close call (and now maybe my kids will hate me when this is Googled during a future job interview for President of the United States, but the temptation was too great. Sorry son, you're Mama is weak).
3. We found out that Shel has hunting skilz. The dude was serious about finding eggs. We would tell him, "No, Shel, there's not an egg there..." and sure enough there WOULD be an egg there, we had just forgotten about it.
He found all those eggs by himself. He was a machine.
4. This morning I crawled out of bed for the first time in a day or so, and the dust bunnies rose up to greet me. My house is a disaster. I was a little freaked out by it, honestly. Where do all the sippy cups COME from?!?!
Sometimes it seems like nothing will ever be done, my house will never be clean.
I saw my neighbor, an older man, walking down my street this morning, and his yard is always immaculate. He has time for weeding (and probably laundry), and I wondered if he could be having more fun than me.
I have two boys and a runny nose, a lifetime supply of Easter candy and a mountain of laundry. What could be more fun than that?
I don't envy the dude, even if he does have a perfect yard.
I'll fold one pair of superhero pajamas at a time, and remember that life is sweet.
